Zak the award winning HMP service dog
New Dawn Malinois Rescue is dedicated to rescuing and providing shelter for as many Malanois as we can. This includes also assisting those who are not suitable for domestic homes. In these circumstances we often work with HMP and the forces.
An example of this is Zim now Zak, he was surrendered as a pup as his owner felt he needed more than a domestic home. It was clear she was correct and through New Dawn Zak was taken on by the HMP. He settled with his handler and a short time later he won the top HMP patrol dog award for 2 years in a row.
We are always happy to talk to representatives from HMP and the forces who are looking to give a dog a second chance at a life and purpose.
